Since last week we have been receiving a large volume of requests from customers about Google Maps API work. That's why we think it's necessary to highlight this news in our blog.
We think that most customers who use Estatik Simple, PRO or Premium plugin have received an email like below:

These changes came into effect on the 11th of June 2018. Most important things you must know:

1. All Google Maps API key must be valid and to be linked to your credit card. Still it doesn't mean that you will be charged for using it BUT you must create a billing account.

2. Google provides free plan for 28 000 map requests and 40 000 direction calls per month. More details about new pay-as-you-go pricing can be found here >>

3. Google Maps currently offers three broad segments – Maps, Routes, and Places. Please note that this will not affect your current Google Maps API key work.

4. You will get the first $200 of monthly usage for free. We think that this would be enough for majority of our customers.

Will this change affect my website work?

This change is very important and we insist on your full attention and understanding it. Now you or your customer are responsible for your personal Google Maps API key.
In case if you haven't make any changes in your Google Maps account, your map may trigger errors and stop working in future.

What should I do now with my key?

If your previous Google Maps API key/s were created before this change, we strongly recommend to create your new personal Google Maps API and link it to your billing data. In case if you received a key from Estatik or your customer/s, please do create your own Google Maps API key as all those keys will be not valid any longer. Make sure that your customers are aware of this serious change and understand that it is not under our control.

Do I need to update the plugin version?

No, there's no special update for it. All you need to do is to make sure that you have valid Google Maps API key.
Please feel free to contact our support team via chat or email if you have any concerns regarding information above.
